Maurice Lacroix and the Fabulous Replica Tourbillon Retrograde
In 2005 Lustre reported on the story of Maurice Lacroix’s latest creation developed to celebrate their thirtieth anniversary: The Masterpiece Tourbillon Retrograde. The masterpiece was created with a retrograde date, power reserve indicator and small seconds on the tourbillon dial. This exclusive timepiece was limited to a total edition of thirty. The original came in a platinum case with a silver dial and a black alligator leather wrist band. We went shopping for one today and miraculously it turned out to be the Deal of the Day at one of our favorite places. The price tag? About $ 130,000 discounted from $ 165,000. Actually, we think that is quite a deal for such a magnificent piece of time engineering, art and elegance.
But how can the average person afford to buy a piece like that? We don’t – we have to look into the replica watch market. Amazingly, we found a replica Maurice Lacroix watch of the Masterpiece available to buy for a very reasonable price. Like the original this replica has Breguet style blue watch hands and a “silver” dial. Roman numeral dial hour markers also match the original. Of course, because this is a replica don’t expect the watch to be made of silver and platinum.
But these folks also offer several other magnificent ML replicas to buy. They offer three models in their Masterpiece Regulator Men’s Collection. We thought the “stainless steel and rose gold” edition with the gray dial and the gray crocodile leather strap band was the most unusual. We have not seen many fine replica watches offered in the gray color scheme. It is very fashionable and striking with its “rose gold” lined rim with Roman numeral hour markers on the dial. This might be a suitable gift for the Éminence grise at your firm.
